When it comes to the East Peninsula of Sydney, most are familiar with Vaucluse. While not a large area the value of land sits high, housing half of Sydney’s top six luxury homes. With the west side embracing the Sydney Harbour and the east embracing the Tasman Sea, the unique geographic location brings the love from many. One side holds the modern urban atmosphere and the other is a vast free sea; our designers were inspired by this very essence.
Sydney is rich in sandstone and is a local favourite in natural material selection for construction. The outer wall of the first floor is constructed of this very material, integrating into the main light colour palette. The natural textural richness provided by the sandstone brings an inherent connection to the land. The third and fourth floors reflect the blue sky and sea, reflecting off the glass walls wherein the airiness and transparency elevates the overall design. The entrance of the underground garage is made up of warm vertical palisades, visually embedding the foundation of the house. In both materiality and the flowing lines of the structures, the house represents a tacit understanding of the interaction of land, sky and the sea.
